As Chief Development Officer Western Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, Valerie Schuermans plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving the Group’s strategic expansion across key markets. With a keen eye for growth opportunities, she has been instrumental in strengthening the Group’s footprint in key destinations such as Paris, Barcelona, Brussels, Warsaw, and Prague. Under her leadership, the Group has accelerated its development in high-priority countries, including Spain, France, Italy, and Poland.

Beyond spearheading new hotel developments, Valerie plays a central role in contract management, ensuring long-term success for the Group and its stakeholders. She also works closely on portfolio and asset management to optimize performance and long-term value across the network. Her ability to identify and secure high-potential projects has been central to Radisson Hotel Group’s sustained expansion and market leadership.

A strong advocate of talent growth from within, Valerie embodies Radisson Hotel Group’s culture of internal development. Since joining Radisson Hotel Group in 2009, she has advanced through a series of development roles before being appointed Vice President in 2018. Her expertise, leadership, and commitment continue to shape the Group’s development strategy across Europe.

Before joining Radisson Hotel Group, Valerie built a solid foundation in real estate finance as an Account Manager at KBC Real Estate NV, where she structured large-scale credit transactions for commercial real estate projects across Central Europe — an experience that sparked her passion for hotel development and set the stage for her successful career in hospitality.

A Belgian national, Valerie holds a master’s degree in Commercial Engineering from the University of Antwerp. Her extensive experience, strategic mindset, and deep understanding of hotel real estate development make her an integral part of Radisson Hotel Group’s continued growth journey.
